Terms and Conditions

2026 Dream Player of the Year (DPOY) — Terms and Conditions

  1. The 2026 DPOY is calculated based on the following formula:
    Position Factor (A) = (Total number of entries / Player's final position)
    Buy-in Factor (B) = Amount of Buy-in in Malaysia Ringgit (MYR) ^
    ^ Capped at MYR 40,000

    For Main Event:
    DPOY = (10 × √A + 3 × √B) × 1.2

    For other events:
    DPOY = 10 × √A + 3 × √B
  2. A player needs to be in the money in order to be qualified for DPOY points.
  3. A minimum of 10 unique players in an event is required for DPOY qualification.
  4. If the buy-in currency is not in MYR, it will then be converted into MYR using the exchange rate listed in xe.com on the 1st day of the tournament series.
  5. Events that have limitations such as age, gender or non-individual events will not be counted towards DPOY. As of now, the following events do not count any point towards DPOY: Senior Events, Ladies Events, Influencer Invitational and Teams Event. Satellites do not count towards DPOY as well.
  6. Whenever there is a deal between players, all the players involved in the deal will receive the lowest ranked points among the remaining ranking points. For example, if there is a deal between the final 3 players, all 3 players will receive the 3rd place DPOY points.
  7. DPOY points will be accumulated for all Poker Dream events held from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.
  8. The player with the most DPOY points at the end of year 2026 will be crowned Dream Player of the Year.
  9. 2026 DPOY winner will receive a prize which is worth US$15,000 ($11,000 tournament credit + $4,000 hotel credit) to be used in any Poker Dream event in 2027.
  10. A maximum of US$3,000 tournament credit can be used in each Poker Dream series. The DPOY winner needs to pay the difference if he/she uses more than US$3,000 in a series. There is no limitation on how much hotel credit can be used in each series.
  11. If there is a discrepancy between the English and Chinese T&C, the English version shall prevail.
